Practitioner Spotlight: Meet Drew

At My Ohana, it's our people who make every nursery feel like home. Our Practitioner Spotlight series introduces you to the wonderful team members who care for, inspire and support children every day.

This month, we're shining the spotlight on Drew, one of our amazing Nursery Practitioners at City House.

About Drew

Drew has been part of the My Ohana family for seven years, building experience across both our workplace crèches and nursery settings.

During that time, he's become known for his energy, positivity and ability to build genuine relationships with both children and colleagues.

Drew has recently started working towards his Level 3 qualification, continuing to develop his knowledge and skills while inspiring the next generation of early years practitioners.

Quick Fire Questions

What do you love most about working with children?

Getting to know their personalities and observing the happiness, craziest and funniest personalities grow and develop.

What is your favourite activity to do with the children?

Following their lead, but my favourite is to be childlike. Encouraging them to be the best versions of themselves and developing that self-confidence.

Why did you choose childcare as a career?

I didn’t choose it. It chose me, and here I am seven years later!

What does a typical day look like for you?

Waking up and preparing to have fun, knowing that the children are expecting the best version of me. Meeting and greeting families, and being the best role model I can be for the children.

Knowing I was the reason someone else wanted to come to work.

What is your favourite thing about working at My Ohana?

How much they care about their colleagues.
